Fit AI Connect

Questions, answered.

The things people ask before downloading Fit AI Connect.

What does Fit AI Connect do?

It signs in to your Garmin account, copies your health and activity history to your own computer, and lets Claude Desktop read it, so you can ask questions about your sleep, heart rate, HRV and training in plain words.

Which data does it copy?

Daily summaries (steps, calories, body battery, stress), sleep and sleep stages, resting heart rate, overnight HRV, and your activities with their laps. About a year back on the first sync, then new days as they come in.

Which AI apps does it work with?

Claude Desktop, on macOS and Windows. ChatGPT isn't supported yet. Why not ChatGPT

Does my data go to your servers?

No. There are no Fit AI Connect servers. Data goes from Garmin straight to your computer. Where everything lives

Do you see my Garmin password?

No. You sign in on Garmin's own page in a separate window. The app only keeps the sign-in key Garmin gives back, in your computer's keychain.

Does it keep syncing when the app is closed?

No. It syncs every 6 hours while the app is open, and whenever you click Sync now. The first sync after a break catches up on the days you missed.

How long does the first sync take?

A while: it fetches about a year of days one by one, spaced out so Garmin isn't flooded. Leave the app open and it shows its progress.

Can Claude change my Garmin data?

No. Claude can only read the copy on your computer. Nothing is written back to Garmin.

Does it cost anything?

The beta is free. Claude Desktop has free and paid plans of its own.

Why does my computer warn me when I open it?

The beta isn't signed with an Apple or Microsoft certificate yet. How to open it

Is this made by Garmin?

No. Fit AI Connect is an independent app that works with your Garmin account. It isn't made by or affiliated with Garmin.
